We’re looking for warm, welcoming volunteers to host The Book Lover Club meet‑ups in their local area. This is a gentle, low‑pressure role perfect for someone who loves books, community, and creating cosy spaces where people can simply show up and be themselves.

This is a volunteer position (not paid employment). Hosts receive support, bookish perks, and a small honorarium based on membership numbers.

About The Book Lover Club
Our in‑person clubs are pressure‑free book clubs with no assigned monthly read. Members simply share what they’ve been reading, swap recommendations, and enjoy a cosy, friendly space to talk about books.

How Membership Works
Members join your club through our website by purchasing a £4/month membership, which includes one meet‑up per month and access to the online community.

Hosts receive £1.50 per member as an honorarium. The rest covers service fees, card fees, admin, and running costs. This honorarium is a discretionary thank‑you payment under the volunteer agreement, not wages or payment for time or labour.

Starter Members
To help new clubs grow, hosts may invite two members free of charge when launching their club. This is a private support perk and should not be shared publicly. These two members do not pay fees and are not included in honorarium calculations. This is simply so that you can invite a friend or two to help you to get started.

What You’ll Do
- Choose a cosy, accessible venue for monthly meet‑ups.
- Welcome members and help everyone feel included.
- Guide conversation (using our provided prompts if needed).
- Share occasional updates or reminders.
- Promote your club locally and online.
- Direct interested readers to the website booking page to join.

Bookish Presence
Hosts have a simple bookish social‑media account (Instagram as a minimum requirement) to share meeting dates, updates, and bookish joy. It doesn’t need to be polished or influencer‑level.

What You’ll Receive
- Help setting up your club and recruiting members (if needed).
- Conversation cards and ready‑to‑post graphics.
- Full club guidelines and ongoing support.
- 30% discount on books and events.
- Your club members receive 15% off.
-A small monthly honorarium based on membership numbers.

Time Commitment
- One meet‑up per month (1–2 hours).
- Light communication between sessions.
- Occasional social‑media updates.
- Designed to fit comfortably around work, family, and life.
