Hey lovely people, I’m Zoe, founder of The Book Lover Club and your resident romantasy fangirl. This all began when I was on adoption leave and suddenly found myself without a community. I missed connecting with people who felt the same rush when a story pulled them into another world. So I started a local book club with one simple rule: no assigned reading, no pressure, just passionate chats about whatever book had us hooked that week. It turns out there were many mood readers craving the same thing. The club filled up quickly with new book besties who shared my love for romance, fantasy, and a laid back space to gush about it all. How we grew into something magical:​ Seeing how much the in person club meant to people gave me an idea. What if we could build that same energy online and open the doors to everyone who loves romantasy? So we did. Since then, The Book Lover Club has become a home for romance and fantasy lovers everywhere. We have hosted virtual book clubs for titles like Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, and held live Q and As with incredible authors including double Sunday Times bestselling author S. A. Maclean. Now we are a registered business and proud to call ourselves a romance and fantasy online bookstore, specialising in finding new homes for pre loved paperbacks and forgotten genre gems. We also curate beautiful new merchandise from independent UK creators who share our love of stories. At the heart of everything we do is community. That is why we have partnered with a book supplier who donates a book for every one sold, and why we continue to create spaces for readers to connect in person too, starting with The Romantasy Retreat 2026, the UK’s only upcoming romantasy reading retreat. ​ Our values: ​ Community Everything begins with connection. That means supporting independent UK creators, rehoming pre loved books, and giving back through our book donation partnership. ​ A little about me: ​ My background is a mix of creativity and organised chaos in the best possible way. I have spent years in retail and events, from running festival stalls with Lush to coordinating weddings and group events across beautiful hotels. Those experiences taught me how to create moments that feel magical but still run smoothly behind the scenes. And yes, I am also a qualified teacher, so you could say I know how to keep a room full of personalities engaged and excited. ​ What’s next: ​ This club is still young, but it is growing quickly, and every reader who joins becomes part of the story.
